Preserve, Promote, Enhance
FRIENDS of the Blue Ridge Parkway, Inc. (FRIENDS) success has been achieved through the loyalty and financial support of corporate, business and individual members and volunteers - like you! We have consistently invested 90 cents of every dollar directly into programs to benefit the Blue Ridge Parkway.
We are the official National Park Service Blue Ridge Parkway's 501(c)(3) membership organization for visitors to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Today our membership is over 8,000 and continues to grow.
This website is dedicated to educating you about FRIENDS' programs and projects, recruiting volunteers and providing you with Parkway information, events and press releases. It is our hope that by learning more about our work, programs and mission, you will join in our efforts to ensure the future of one of our greatest national treasures - the Blue Ridge Parkway.
How I Can Help?
Please Remember...Your gift to FRIENDS of the Blue Ridge Parkway qualifies you for a full tax deduction for charitable contributions as defined under federal law 501(c)(3). In addition to membership, there are many ways to contribute financially to FRIENDS: memorials, in-kind and special gifts, employer matching gifts, gift memberships, bequests by will and gifts of stock.
Do you love the Blue Ridge Parkway? Do you want your friends to join you in supporting America’s favorite drive?
We would be more than happy to help you spread the word about our fabulous Parkway while increasing FRIENDS' membership. Our goal is to have 10,000 members by 2010 – the Blue Ridge Parkway's 75th Anniversary. You, as a FRIENDS member, can inspire new members to join!
Read the letter Bill Hackworth sent to his friends. This one letter inspired 25 of his friends to become new FRIENDS members. You can do the very same thing and we'd be more than happy to help. Email the FRIENDS office at staff@friendsbrp.org, and we’ll help you draft your own letter to send to your friends who love the Blue Ridge Parkway as well.
Help us spread the word about FRIENDS and how, together, we can preserve, promote and enhance the Parkway for future generations.

75th Anniversary Volunteers Needed

Volunteer workers are needed to help the Parkway and its anniversary foundation, 75th Inc. They need volunteers to help prepare for events along the Parkway, serve as ambassadors at officially sanctioned 75th anniversary events in local communities, serve at events and concerts related to the 75th anniversary and to perform clerical duties.
Volunteers should enjoy working with the general public, be flexible, accommodating, and interested in Parkway history. If you are interested in supporting the Parkway during this once in a lifetime event, please let us know by sending an email to staff@friendsbrp.org.
